Our Wedding

What i have bought and going to buy next

We knew our flat wont be ready in the next 6 months, maybe around Oct than we able to get our keys, but we still want to go shopping, trying to see whats out there. We call Jiaqin and went out hunting.... went to furniture mall, went to some shops to look around. Wanting to know the price range of sofas, coffee tables, dinning tables.

There is this shop that caught our attention and went in. We fall in love with this sofa. We were tempted to buy, but hold on to it. The price was $2K and above, wasnt very cheap. We gave ourselves 1 day to consider, went to other shops to compare prices. Price range was between $1.8K and above. We actually still like this sofa set the most, in the end we went back to this shop with Jiaqin and her hubby, we bought it, Jiaqin choose a different design, while we choose this design.

Of cause buying such an expensive sofa sure kena nagged by asingaporeanson heeheee, my hubby give him such a nice excuss that he didnt nag anymore wahaha.... I plan to buy too expensive coffee table and dinning table... NOTTI sure scream at me wahahaha.....ok lal notti... i wont buy too expensive one...heheee
Next, went to look at stove. Actually dont really know what brand too get, dont need branded one, juat want a normal and wont spoil too easily one. Still thinking to get a 2 or 3 stove. Still searching round.
Washing machine, i decide to get this brand, but wont get it from Courts, will look around to see where we can get a cheaper washing machine.
After much decision, we decide to get this fridge, my hubby love this fridge, samsung 2 door fridge. But will also search around, to see other places and compare the price.

The following items below are already bought. People are saying, wow...you so fast buy ar... actually i buying some of the things bit by bit. small items can buy first. Last min, will have too many items to buy. At least when flat ready i already have some items on hand.
I am buying all he colorful items... think my hubby will faint... mutil color wahahaha. But i love it so i believe my hubby wont mind.

Of cause my shopping wont stop here, i will continue my shopping, this time will look for coffee table... Notti...dont nag ok, i not buying expensive things...heeheee...cheap cheap only. :)

  1. Hi Ah Pooh,

People don't buy things using their head first, but with their heart.
Then they use their head to justify what they really want in their heart!

Not I say one: proven by psychology research!
So you and hubby are not alone!

We try out FairPrice Xtra, such as at Ang Mo Kio Hub, for cheaper but still good offers.
For example, our recent washing machine replacement for a family of 5 (including our maid) was about $270 not counting installation and disposal, Samsung brand, 6.5 kg capacity.

Our Aerogaz water heater replacement was about $70 with $30 installation; other brands were as much as over $200, with $35 installation.

We are enjoying our cheap but good also!

    2. Agreed with you, -asingaporeanson-, about maximal value at minimal possible cost!
That's why I mentioned 'cheap _and_ good' to Ah Pooh.

About that Samsung washing machine at about S$270 (Sing dollars), I was actually asked by the store salesman whether I wanted to take a larger capacity, newer wash-system one at $445 (note the price difference).
But our young family does not and cannot stuff the laundry load in one go, and we did not need fancy new features.
In fact, what attracted me and later them to this particular model, was the simple and therefore more useful control panel, unlike 'advanced' models with so many dizzying choices we never got to use in years!

So no thanks to the 'upsize', we stuck to our 'cheap' choice and are enjoying its 'good' functioning so far.

So yes, don't consume too much cheap, unhealthy junk food like, for example, $2 McDonald's double cheesburger with pickles.
Still, for me, I would favour 'mixed rice' at S$3 at a coffee shop, over similar food court fare at $6, or a rice buffet at $40 in a hotel restaurant.

    4. Hi Ah Pooh,

Honestly I can't guarantee you, although I've been using washing machines from young.
My best guess is — and I think our maid will confirm this — it should fill up the whole tub, so you can only just wash it and nothing else.

Actually, we've done whole bedsheets before (yes, my maid, myself, my wife; on separate occasions).
But I don't want to sound like a salesman making empty or false promises! X-P

Maybe when you check it out for yourselves at the stores, press the sales guys/ladies with questions, and ask for confirm-chop-plus-guarantee. :-D
That should make them at least more honest with you.

      Good luck hunting!
